What do you Desire

At the age of 24, I decided to make a true commitment to Christ. I have heard Pastors say many times "God will give you the desires of your heart." But is it your desire, or God's will for you?

The Lord's Prayer says "Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew ‭6:10‬ ‭ESV‬‬. Do your desires line up with God's will?

When I published my book, I desired to get my book into as many people's hands because I believe the revelation God gave me will be accepted everywhere. Six months later, God showed me I was not doing His will, but my own. It wasn't until I understood that I needed to do God's will, then the book will be revealed to people through my desire to heal broken marriages, and giving hope to those who desire to be married.

‭‭Psalms ‭37:3-5‬ ‭NASB "Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.”

‭‭

‭‭

The scripture says you have to first Trust in him, then cultivate faithfulness (grow your belief in God). When you grow your belief he will begin to show you purpose and His will. Then he will give you the desires of your heart. When you are full of the word, and have cultivated your faith, any and all desires will be His desires for you. Jesus said “saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done."”

‭‭

Reflective thinking

Do your desires line up with God's will?

Is your marriage or relationship an example of what God's will is for you?

Reflect on your desires, and begin to cultivate your faithfulness to ensure you are walking in purpose.
